What are oxychloro chemical species?
Powerful, yet selective oxidizers that have been used for decades in the food and beverage industry. They are used around the world to treat drinking water, sterilize beverage bottles, clean medical facilities, and have even been used to treat government buildings to kill pathogens. In recent years they are even used in mouthwash products. Deception Scents focuses on killing odor-causing bacteria.
Is Deception Scents harmful to my clothes and rubber boots like ozone?
Deception Scents has been tested and proven to be safe to use on hunting clothes, hunting equipment, pet bedding, vehicle interiors, and RV or camper interiors.
What is an oxidizer?
In chemistry, an oxidizing agent (oxidant, oxidizer) is a substance that has the ability to oxidize other substances — in other words to accept their electrons. Common oxidizing agents are oxygen, hydrogen peroxide and the halogens. That means the oxychloro chemical species removes electrons from another compound during a chemical reaction and makes it toxic to odor causing bacteria and fungi.
Can Deception Scents remove smoke odors?
Deception Scents (D25) is perfect for removing all types of odors from vehicles including smoke odors, pet odors, spilled hunting products, and any other smelly things that your buddy left in your truck. Deception’s 32oz spray is also a great choice for daily use to proactively fight smoke odors. This spray is designed to treat your clothes, vehicles, equipment, dog kennels, and pet bedding for all odors.
Why does Deception Scents smell like chlorine when it is being activated?
Deception Scents contains oxychloro chemical species but does not contain chlorine. Both are oxidizers and have a similar smell to some people. The chemistry however is radically different. Oxychloro chemical species are far less corrosive than chlorine and are much more effective at targeting odor causing bacteria and fungi.
How long is Deception Scents spray good after its activated?
Deception Scents spray is shelf stable for up to 2 years when unopened and stays at its original strength for over 6 months after being activated. The strength will slowly decrease after that but will be effective for several more weeks, if not months. This is assuming that its not stored on your truck dash. When possible store in a cool, dark place.
Can I put Deception Scents into another container for use?
No, the bottles that we use are designed to give you the longest product life and correct mixed concentration.
How often should I reapply the field spray when hunting?
During warm weather hunting conditions, field spray should be reapplied every 2 to 3 hours.
